WELCOME DASHBOARD'S THIRD DASHTRAVLR GRANT RECIPIENT, MICKI DAVIS.

Follow Micki May 13 - June 7

DashTravlr is a platform for artists to share visual moments with each other and you from across the globe. The DashTravlr grants provide funding support for artist travel, a component of education we feel imperative for creative progress.

Los Angeles based artist and filmmaker Micki Davis (@MariMick) will be covering the month long return to her maternal homeland of Guam.

MICKI DAVIS: Hafa dai, DASHworld! I'm @MariMick and I'm ready to turn the lens on my homeland #Guåhan #Guam for the next month. It's a particularly historic moment because this mighty little island will be hosting artisans and artists from 27 island nations for#GuamFestPac2016, the first time since the advent of the Festival of the Pacific. I'll be exploring as a participating artist and I invite you to join me with your #eyesontheisla #islanatadok #islandeyes.

Dashboard had the great opportunity to present Micki's work, "Close of Day" in Atlanta Georgia, 2015 through our partnership in Dixie Overland Highway, an east coast to west coast exchange program.

Many Thanks to our sponsors and patrons who make it possible to provide unique opportunities to artists across the globe.

San Francisco based artist and designer, @Moore_madeline will be covering her 7 day journey and immersion of Japanese design and culture.

Konichiwa! @moore_madeline here, posting some images collected during a 2 week tour of #Japan! Yes, #springtime here is synonymous with #cherryblossoms, but those delicate #pink petals aren’t the only show in town. Respect for #nature, in all its forms, is woven throughout #Japanese culture. This is a community of people who respect the invaluable gifts that Mother Nature has so sweetly offered to our planet.

Many Thanks to our sponsors and patrons who make it possible to provide unique opportunities to artists across the globe.

Dashboard's first DashTravlr grant has been awarded to Henry Detweiler.

Detweiler was selected for his humorous dissection of the nature of social media as well as his ability to translate his artistic endeavors digitally through photos and narrative - in a clever but accessible way. He is currently living and working in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Henry Detweiler (b. 1989) is an artist and writer from Atlanta, GA. His varied practice includes painting, photography, performance, sculpture, video and installation. His work has been featured in Hyperallergic, New American Paintings and Emergency Index Vol. 3, as well as in the permanent collection of The High Museum of Art Atlanta. He is currently attending two artist residencies in Iceland and weeping both the sunrise and the cost of beer.

" #crossfit / #bae "

It is no longer my goal to cultivate an exclusively visually literate audience for my work. It is now my goal to get as many Instagram "likes" from as many beefy* dudes as possible. The project is about including new and previously unconsidered audiences in the discourse of contemporary art.

In an effort to discover the fundaments of truth, a self-effacing all-denim outfit interviews artists and other interesting persons from around the world.
